Change management strikes again!

Well, thought that tonight would be quiet so I can get stuff accomplished.

No such luck,

Since this morning, Change Management has added two more events to the calendar.

* A SQL Cluster reconfiguration for H&R Block from 2330 to 0200
* The original server move from 0200 to 0300
* Then a systems reconfiguration and upgrade to a SQL Cluster for fossil.com from 0300 to 0500

So much for getting things caught up. Oh well.

One little thought . . .

Thinking about what Jay told me last night, how am I going to be able to date with the really strange schedule I am working now?

A new day. . .

Logged in and checked the duty calendar. Only one server move? Wow.

Of course things can happen today to complicate things.

Would be nice to have tonight be pretty quiet so we can do some long overdue cleaning and inventory. Along with retiring the servers of some of these companies that have gone under in the past few months.

Good start to a good week + a challenge to my comfort zone

Did more chores, ran some errands this morning.

Got to chat with my parents for a little while.

Met Beth and Brian (along with Adam and his latest boyfriend) for dinner at Fuddruckers – Man it has been about three months since I ate a real hamburger. Was lots of fun.

Beth chewed on me a little, but I deserved it. Was supposed to go by her store today and completely forgot.

Bowled pretty good this evening, about 20 pins over my average.

Jay gave me a lecture tonight – he thinks that I need to get out more, meet people, and date. He is right, but man that is so far outside of my comfort zone. Told him I would try, but I was going to need LOTS of moral support. Going to try, this won’t be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is.

Very, very kewl

Moore of yesterday again. Bowled a makeup game with Tina and her mother, and bowled 82 pins over my average today. Man I am going to kill my bowling average. But was a blast all the same.

All in all a good day.

Got up, did more of the housework and working on shoehorning a new person into my environment – calls for a LOT of adjusting, but I think I am coping well. Bowled this evening and scored about 50 pins over my average. Wish Jay had come to bowling, but I understand he needs time to readjust to the states.

Quiet day…

Not much to say, got up, did some shopping, came home, did housework, cooked dinner. Jay and I watched Tremors III – Back to Perfection. What a riot. I know that those are some hokey movies, but I enjoy them anyway.

Well . . . Crudpuppies

Fateful last words from yesterday.

Last night an array controller died and took several hard drives with it. Did slow us down but could have been much worse.

Jay is still not back from running his errands, getting a little jumpy. Need access to the car in two hours.

Back at it

Doesn’t seem to be as busy today. That is good. I like busy, but there is a limit.

Let’s see how today goes.

Takes a little time

Jay got to learn just how far into BFE I work today, since we have one car right now, he had to take me to work.

Good day today.

Got a compliment from J.R. on my work today – of course this will mean even more work but no job worth doing is easy.

I love my job.

Jay is here

Jay has finally made it here through the adventure of customs, etc.

Of course his luggage isn’t here, and likely won’t be here until probably tomorrow.

Good thing I came

My parents computer decided to curl up its toes and die the day I arrived. Spend the last day rebuilding it, but still a lot of fun. Also did a brake job on the car with my father supervising. Amazing how things that would annoy me normally are just fun right now.

Hmmmmm

Don’t know if precious is the right word . . . just think of them as precocious furry miracles.

You know what?

Baby Raccoons are one of the most precious things I have experienced.
